Zato što on nikad nije volio tu ulogu i što se nije mogao fokusirati na neke druge projekte, a fanovima je Han Solo među najdražim SW likovima i dan danas ga obožavaju. Tražio je od George Lucasa da u jednom od starih SW-a ubije Han Sola, ali on to nikad nije htio uraditi pa je ta averzija sve više jačala kako je rasla i popularnost tog lika.
Pristao da se vrati u ulogu Sola u najnovijoj trilogiji samo pod uslovom da ga ubiju odmah u prvom filmu, a što je Disney prihvatio. Naravno htio je i zaraditi.
